Angels Among Us

Hi everyone!  A new Magnolia card for you using the Angel Tilda stamp from the Nativity Collection.  I tried to do a cream/beige/gold theme as that is kind of what I think of when I think of angels.  Overall, I am really pleased with how this one came together.

I used the Copic markers in the following colors:
Robe - E 43, 42, 41, 40
Wings - Y 000, 00, 02
Halo - Y 15, 11 and blender
Hair - E 31; Y 21 and 11
Skin - E 50, 000, 00, 21 and 93 for cheeks
Ground - W 3, 1, 0 and blender
I brushed on Smooch Glitz over the wings but it doesn't show up in the photo.

Here is a close up of the coloring.

I used flowers from Wild Orchid and one other that I am not sure where they came from; seam binding ribbon from 7 Gypsies; lace and papers were just from the stash; the corner die is from Joy Crafts and the gold pearls are from Michaels Crafts.

The interior phrase is stamped and embossed with gold powder and the stamp itself was from Denami Designs, which I purchased eons ago.  I thought it was perfect for this image.

I am entering this one in a few different challenges;
7 Kids College Fund - Anything Goes;
Totally Tilda - Tilda Sitting Pretty;
Tilda's Town - Celebrate Christmas;
Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia - Winter Wonderland;
Color Me Creative - Non traditional Christmas;
Fussy and Fancy Challenge - I Love Christmas;
Simply Magnolia - Tis the Season

I would love to hear what you think of this one.  Wish me luck with the challenges!

Christmas Angel

Once again, it's been a long time since I posted anything but here is a new card creation with a Saturated Canary image.  She is called "Christmas Angel" and is available in digital form from where else but Saturated Canary!

I was trying a Copic combination that I saw Mindy Baxter do and mine didn't quite work out the way hers did but overall I am content with the coloring.  I didn't keep track of the Copics that were used but I do remember that the dress is done with BG's and G's.

Papers are from K & C; flowers are Prima and Wild Orchid; the stamp image is from Whimsy and the snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch.
Here is one closeup of the coloring for you.

One more of the inside.

I am entering this one at the Saturated Canary challenge so wish me luck.  As always, I love to read your comments.  Good or Bad, LOL!!  If you have any other questions on the products used, I'll try to answer as best as I can.

I added the white snowflake paper and a stamped and embossed phrase to the inside.

Forever Young

Hi everyone!  Here is a new and special card that I have made for a very special friend who has a birthday tomorrow.  The gate fold technique is from the incredible Norma over at From My Craft Room!  She really does the most incredible tutorials and this is one of them.  Check out her stuff as it is fabulous.  I am going to be trying a number of her tutorials so watch for them here.

I am entering this one at Eureka Stamps - Anything Goes;
The Crazy Challenge - Anything Goes;
Hooked on Crafts - Cards for Men;
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes.

Cards for guys are HARD to make.  Didn't want to make it feminine in any way so that meant keeping the embellishments minimal.  Hopefully a ribbon and pearls aren't too much!  LOL!

I used Cool Edwin from the Sweet Rainbow collection and then masked him off and stamped Edwin's Oldsmobile from Summer Memories collection.  I have colored with the trusty Copics.

Background - B 02, 32, 00, 000, 0000, and blender (Thank you for this one also Norma)
Shirt - BG 72, 18, 13, 11
Jeans - B 97, 95, 93, 91
Bumper/Grill/Tires - C 7, 5, 3, 2, 1
Car - E 18, 17, 15
Interior/window - E 42, 40
Skin - E 50, 000, 21, 00, and 93 for cheeks
Hair - E 29, 25, 31
Runners - C 3, 1, 00
Headlights - Y 00, 11

That is a long list!!

Here is one close up of the coloring for you.

As always, I really love to read your comments and appreciate you taking the time to "write".  If you would like any other details just let me know.

Stings!

I am sad to say that I was not chosen for the Totally Tilda Design Team.  I have only applied for two different design teams and I wasn't chosen for either one.  On both entries I kind of thought that it was a long shot and didn't really expect to be chosen.  Yet, why does it hurt so much when finding out that you didn't make it??

How do they choose?  Is it my coloring, card designs, blog too plain, photography skills, not enough entries?

What does it feel like to be "asked" to be on a design team?

This one "stings"!!

Totally Tilda DT Call

Hi everyone!  It has been awhile since I posted and the summer is slipping away fast.  Lots of summer activities going on but I "made" some time to make this little creation for the Totally Tilda design team call and I am going to be giving this one to a very special friend who has a birthday later in August.

Mad for Markers - Anything Goes
Magnolia-licious - Photo Inspiration
Midweek Magnolia's - Use 2 dies/punches
Just Magnolia - Pearls and Swirls
NMWC (No Matter Which Challenges) - Anything Goes

The border idea is from the incredible Mandy who is the Head Designer at Totally Tilda.  She has a fabulous tutorial on how to make these border punched card fronts.  Check her out at asprinklingofglitter.blogspot.ca

I used Copics in the following colors:

Dress and socks - R85, 83, 81
Pinafore and lace - BG05, 02, 000

Hair - E59, 99, 33; YR24, 21, 20

Here's one close up of the coloring for you.

I actually designed the interior to open to the left but then realized that it had to open from the bottom up and so it didn't turn out the way it was planned but I still like how it came out.  Here's one of the whole inside panel.

Close ups of the interior.

Toys that I used are:
Papers - Echo Park and Kaiser and Bazzill
Border Punch - Martha Stewart punch around the page
Flowers - Wild Orchid
Pearls - Kaiser
Dies - Spellbinders and Cheery Lynn

I love reading your comments and would love to know what you think of this one!

Hurts

I just made this little tent card and doctor's bag box for a friend who has being feeling lousy and is also grieving.  I like to think that time heals but when you are hurting it doesn't feel like it will ever end.

Nurse Tilda was colored with the following Copic colors;
Reds sections - R 29, 27
Cork in bottle and end of syringe - E 13, 15
Cap and dress - C 00, 1, 3
Papers in her hand - E 43, 42, 41, 40
Hair - E 29, 25, 31
Skin - E 50, 21, 00, 000, and cheeks E 93

Hearts were cut with Spellbinders and the flower is Magnolia.  The background red paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and "Get Well" phrase is from Gina K Designs.

The little doctors bag is from an online tutorial and it is really cool and cute.  I embossed with the same Cuttle bug folder and then also heat embossed over the texture so that it kind of looks like leather.  Hard to see in the photo.

I am going to be adding a lip balm, tissue package, single chicken soup package and a sore throat lozenge package.

If you would like any other details just let me know.

This box came from the Stempelmaleins (love that word) site and I thought I should give it a try.  I am quite happy with how it turned out.  The pictures are lousy though.

Here is a Saturated Canary card that I have been working on for a little while.  I just love Krista's designs and thought I would try this one out.  I think I got it a little too large and a little too dark but overall I am quite happy with it.

I used the following Copic colors:

I had done the socks in the E's listed above and then I went over them with BG 10 and 11
