Hurts

I just made this little tent card and doctor's bag box for a friend who has being feeling lousy and is also grieving.  I like to think that time heals but when you are hurting it doesn't feel like it will ever end.

Nurse Tilda was colored with the following Copic colors;
Reds sections - R 29, 27
Cork in bottle and end of syringe - E 13, 15
Cap and dress - C 00, 1, 3
Papers in her hand - E 43, 42, 41, 40
Hair - E 29, 25, 31
Skin - E 50, 21, 00, 000, and cheeks E 93

Hearts were cut with Spellbinders and the flower is Magnolia.  The background red paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and "Get Well" phrase is from Gina K Designs.

The little doctors bag is from an online tutorial and it is really cool and cute.  I embossed with the same Cuttle bug folder and then also heat embossed over the texture so that it kind of looks like leather.  Hard to see in the photo.

I am going to be adding a lip balm, tissue package, single chicken soup package and a sore throat lozenge package.

If you would like any other details just let me know.

Cupcake Box

This box came from the Stempelmaleins (love that word) site and I thought I should give it a try.  I am quite happy with how it turned out.  The pictures are lousy though.

Although this is perfect for a cupcake, you could also use it for a gardening gift box.

I used the Garden Tilda and colored her with the following Copic markers;
Overalls - YG 67, 63,61
Pocket on overalls - YG 93, 91
Top (blouse) - V 25, 22, 20
Boots - YG 97, 95, 93, 91
Skin - E 50, 000, 21, 00 and E 93 for cheeks
Hoe - C 6, 5, 3, 1
Ground - W 5, 3, 1

On the other side of the box I used the Magnolia watering can and colored with the following;
C 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2; G 46, 43, 40; RV 52, 00, 55, 63, 66; R 56; YG 21; and I used the Smooch Illuminate on the butterfly

One of the "hole" side of the box.

One more of the other side top flap.

Here is a new card just to celebrate spring which will hopefully arrive soon.  I still have snow in my backyard and really would like to see it gone for good now.

Stem - G 20, 21

Here is one close up of the coloring for you.

And one of the inside.

The papers are from a very old 6 x 6 pad that I have had forever but they were K & Company; the image was cut with a Spellbinders scalloped oval die; the lace was from the stash; the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts; the tiny butterfly in the top right is a Spellbinders and the one on the top left is Memory Box.

As always, I love to read your comments and I would love to know what you think of this one.

I am entering it in three different challenges:

Nevaeh

Here is a Saturated Canary card that I have been working on for a little while.  I just love Krista's designs and thought I would try this one out.  I think I got it a little too large and a little too dark but overall I am quite happy with it.

I used the following Copic colors:
Dress - BG 72, 75, 78; E 42, 43, 44
I had done the socks in the E's listed above and then I went over them with BG 10 and 11
Shoes - BG 10, 11, 13
Hair - E 53, 25, 39, 59, 55
Skin - E 50, 00, 000, 21
Eyes - B 12, 000
Lips - R 20, 00

I am entering this one at the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog where the challenge is to use twine.  I didn't use very much but it is there across the bottom.  Wish me luck on this one.

As alwys, I love to read the comments and I know it takes time to write something but I love reading them.

Pirate Party Menu

These parties that are held at least once a year are truly over the top.  The work and planning that the host and hostess do is truly amazing and creative.  I thought I would share what the menu was for the pirate party!

Pirate flags at the front entrance!  Enter the "ship" and you have a choice of 5 different kinds of rum!!  I am sure that you could have anything but hey, drink rum, it's a pirate party.  I can and will drink rum as it is my choice of alcohol anytime.

Next up is a pickle plate.  Pearl onions and gherkins and also tiny tomatoes and those little cheese ball things and also spring rolls with a peanut sauce.

Bacon wrapped scallops follow and these are SO good!

Lettuce and crab salad.

Now onto the main course!  Lobster tails, filet mignon, rice, asparagus wrapped with prosciutto and broccoli salad.

More rum?  Port (rum of course)?

And now after many, many laughs, gun fire (okay not fire) but guns and some more laughs, desert is lemon merigne cake/pie and very special coffees, another fabulous dinner is over.  How long until the next one?
